F-PROT Antivirus False Positive?

Every minute and every second brings the world more computer viruses and other malware. The growth of malware threats is practically exponential, even the world's most comprehensive database of virus definitions cannot include all threats as many are still undiscovered and new on the horizon. To provide the best proactive protection F-PROT Antivirus employs multiple heuristic detection methods to find and eliminate those still unknown malware.

Unfortunately, this occasionally results in false positives, safe applications which have been falsely identified as malware or viruses. This happens usually because the application in question behaves in a non-standard way or in a manner that's similar to that of a computer virus. We apologise for the inconvenience if this has happened to you but this is, sadly, a regrettable, yet unavoidable, occasional side effect of keeping your computer safe from unknown threats.

If you think F-PROT Antivirus has falsely identified a safe application as a virus or other kind of malware please use the form below to send us the file(s) so that our virus lab experts can look into the issue.

If you have any questions or comments or would like a reply, please contact customer support. Should you want to encrypt data that is sent to the FRISK Software Virus Lab then please use PGP or GnuPG and the public key.
