Please note that version 6 of F-PROT Antivirus for Windows has been released. We recommend that all Home, Corporate and Mail Server users of
version 3 of F-PROT Antivirus for Windows upgrade their program to the newest version as soon as possible.
A cookie is a very small text file placed on your hard drive by a web server. It is essentially your
identification card and cannot be executed as code or deliver viruses. It is uniquely yours and
can only be read by the server that gave it to you. This cookie error occurs when your browser's
cookie privacy settings are set too high.
Privacy settings in Internet Explorer:
You can modify your privacy settings from low:
Accept All Cookies to high:
Block All Cookies.
When set to
Block All Cookies, all cookies are blocked without exception.
If your privacy settings are set to either "High" or "Medium High", you must specify
sites to blocked or allowed (e.g. subscription.f-prot.com). For your convenience, we
therefore recommend setting privacy to
Medium (default).
- Open Internet Explorer
- Click Tools on the menu
- In the options below, select Internet Options

- In the Internet options window, select the Privacy tab

- Move the slider to select a privacy setting (Medium [default] is recommended)
- Click Apply to save changes and OK to confirm the settings.
Privacy settings in Mozilla Firefox:
We recommend to set privacy settings to allow all cookies (by default).
To set privacy settings in Mozilla Firefox
- Open Mozilla Firefox
- Click Tools on the menu

- Select Options
- In the options window, select the Privacy tab
- In the privacy window, expand Cookies

- Make sure to check "Allow sites to set cookies"
- In "Keep Cookies", select "until they expire".
- Click OK.
