Please note that version 6 of F-PROT Antivirus for Windows has been released. We recommend that all Home, Corporate and Mail Server users of
version 3 of F-PROT Antivirus for Windows upgrade their program to the newest version as soon as possible.
An archive bomb is a file that is repeatedly compressed. These archives can cause scanners or other
programs to crash or hang because of intensive resource consumption during the scanning of hundreds of
levels of archives within archives.
F-PROT Antivirus now flags archive files it finds suspicious and alerts the user that the
file "could be an archive bomb". You can submit a sample of this file to our development team
via our online submission form.
