| Why do I have to use the dos/fpcmd scanner to disinfect my computer? |
If you run F-PROT Antivirus OnDemand Scanner it can be used to disinfect, but in some cases it can not disinfect from Windows. The main reason for this is that sometimes the infected files are in use while running Windows. Thus F-PROT Antivirus can not access the files to disinfect and it is necessary to disinfect from pure DOS mode.

An important step in order to prevent the computer from becoming infected is to keep the anti-virus product up to date. It is necessary to update the virus signature files regularly (once per week), this can be done automatically with the Updater (the Scheduler can be set to determine when). It is also necessary to upgrade the program itself. New versions are released every 3-4 months. In order to upgrade download the latest version available from the Customer login site and install.
