How do I know F-PROT Antivirus is working?

You may consider testing F-PROT Antivirus with EICAR test file to see if it is working properly. For detailed instructions, see How to test F-PROT Antivirus with the EICAR test file. F-PROT Antivirus will detect those test viruses and clean them immediately.

Please consider also the following when making sure you have installed your F-PROT Antivirus program correctly.

1. Program files - When F-PROT Antivirus is successfully installed, it will be listed in the "Programs" folder. Please verify this by clicking on
   
   Start > Programs Files > FRISK Software > F-PROT Antivirus.
   
   If it is listed then the program is installed.
2. Desktop icon - F-PROT Antivirus installs an icon on your Desktop (selected by default during installation).
3. System tray icon - F-PROT Antivirus installs an icon in the Windows system tray. The Windows system tray is located next to the clock on your computer.

The F-PROT Antivirus icon in the Windows system tray offers a menu of options. Simply right click on the icon to view the menu.

4. Run a virus scan - You may run a full scan of your computer at any time. Click here to view detailed instructions.
