| What are F-PROT Antivirus automatic scanners and how do they help protect my computer? |
F-PROT Antivirus automatic scanners provide automatic real-time protection to all files including archives, e-mail attachments and code downloads that are accessed or downloaded on your computer. The real-time scanning occurs in the background constantly monitoring for viruses.
By default, these automatic scanners will automatically disinfect or quarantine all kinds of infected/suspicious files upon detection. Please note that F-PROT Antivirus backs up the original file automatically before any attempt to disinfect on infected/suspicious files. This is to make sure a back up exists if the infected file becomes corrupted during the cleaning process. For further information, see How to view, remove or restore backed up files.
We highly recommend keeping the automatic scanners enabled to maintain optimal virus protection on your computer. Please note that disabling the automatic scanners will put your computer into risk of being infected by viruses, worms, Trojans and other malicious softwares.
Below are the automatic scanners of F-PROT Antivirus.
- Automatic file system protection monitors all files, including archives, ActiveX controls and e-mail attachments whenever they are accessed, created or copied on your computer.
- Microsoft Office protection monitors all Microsoft Office (2000 and newer) documents that are accessed on your computer. Other office programs are supported via the automatic file system protection.
- Internet Explorer protection monitors all malicious ActiveX controls that are downloaded on your computer from the Internet Explorer 5 or newer. Other browsers are supported via the automatic file system protection.
- Outlook e-mail protection monitors all e-mail attachments that are downloaded on your computer from the Microsoft Outlook 2000 or newer. Other e-mail programs are supported via the automatic file system protection.
