You receive an "The Add-in 'F-PROT Antivirus E-mail plug-in' (C:\Program Files\FRISK Software\F-PROT Antivirus for Windows\fpoutavext.dll) cannot be loaded and has been disabled by Outlook" error message.

When you start Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, you may receive the following error message:

This error may occur after you remove F-PROT Antivirus. Removing F-PROT Antivirus does not remove the add-in from the Microsoft Outlook Add-In Manager.

To fix the problem, please remove the F-PROT entry in the Add-in Manager. Do the following:

  1. Run Microsoft Outlook.
  2. Click Tools > Trust Center > Add-ins
  3. In Manage, select Exchange client extension then click Go
  4. In the Add-in Manager windows, uncheck F-PROT Antivirus E-mail plug-in (see below).
  5. Click OK.
