How to run a virus scan

Scan your computer regularly to ensure your computer is clean from viruses, worms, Trojans and other malicious software. By default, F-PROT Antivirus scans and disinfects the infected files upon detection.

You may scan your computer for viruses in three different ways:

  1. Normal scanning
  2. Perform a scan according to its default scan settings. For a step-by-step guide to perform normal scanning, see How to perform a normal scan.

  3. Advanced scanning
  4. Allows you to scan according to your profiles. For a step-by-step guide to perform an advanced scan, see How to perform an advanced scan.

  5. Command-line scanning
  6. If you require the level of control to scan, use the Command-Line Scanner to check for viruses on your computer. Please note that the Command-Line Scanner is for advanced users only.

For a step-by-step guide to scan your computer with the Command-Line Scanner, see How to perform a command-line scan.
