When installing F-PROT Antivirus I receive a Perl dependency error but Perl is installed properly, as well as both the required modules

This is a version issue. The default version of Perl that is shipped with many distributions is 5.0.5. However, F-PROT Antivirus requires version 5.6.0 at least, and preferably 5.8.0. If you do not have this version, you need to install it from the ports collection.
