What is the difference between the Command-Line Scanner and the Daemon Scanner?

The Daemon Scanner is a memory resident version of the scanner. It is more efficient due to the fact that the scanner is always initialized and ready to handle scan requests. The Command-Line Scanner, however, has the added overhead of having to initialize itself at each scan request.

The Command-Line Scanner is included in all version of F-PROT Antivirus for operating systems based on UNIX. The Daemon scanner, however, is included in all those versions, except the Workstation versions.

For further information on both scanners, please browse through the on-line helpfiles for F-PROT Antivirus for UNIX based platforms.
