| How can F-PROT AVES distinguish spam from my regular e-mail? |
F-PROT AVES scans your e-mail for phrases and format characteristics that have been identified as "spam-like". Each of these phrases and characteristics recognised by F-PROT AVES contribute a certain score. When the message has been scanned the total score of the message determines if the message is spam or not. If the score is higher than a certain pre determined threshold then the message is probably spam. In addition we employ various other techniques to catch the e-mail that spammers send. We store a fingerprint of known spam in a database and compare against your e-mail to make sure that you do not receive them. |
