Life cycle policy for F-PROT Antivirus for Windows

F-PROT Antivirus generally supports Windows operating systems for approximately one year after Microsoft's End of Life date for its operating systems. Below are the dates after which F-PROT Antivirus will no longer support the various Windows operating systems. Please note that F-PROT Antivirus will continue to be functional after these dates but updates of these versions will no longer be available.

* End of online self-help support by Microsoft. This date is generally one year after extended support is retired by Microsoft and two years after mainstream support is retired by Microsoft.

** Windows 98/ME will only be supported for a limited time. Due to built in limitations in the Operating Systems the On-Access (Realtime Protector) scanner will not be able to load new virus definition files unless you install a specific fix available here. The On-Demand scanner and command-line scanner, however, will continue to function without the fix.

*** Version 3 continues and will continue to function on systems that run Windows 2000/XP Home/XP Professional. We strongly recommend upgrading to version 6 for new and more powerful features. Note that for customers with a valid subscription this upgrade is included in the license.
