Microsoft has issued a critical security bulletin: MS07-017. This security patch was issued early to respond to a recently discovered GDI vulnerability in Microsoft Windows. The vulnerability enables a serious exploit and the early release of the security patch is an indication of how important the problem is.

The vulnerability could be exploited to gain complete control of an affected computer. This security vulnerability is also discussed in the Microsoft Security Advisory (925902).
