W32/Fizzer@mm spreads at an alarming pace
W32/Fizzer@mm was first discovered on the 8th of May but did not gain wide distribution untill early this week. It seems now to be reaching such a wide distribution that computer users should be even more careful about unknown e-mails and attachments than before.
W32/Fizzer@mm is a mass-mailing worm that spreads through infected e-mail attachments and the KaZaA peer to peer file-sharing network. It sends itself out to all contacts in the Windows Address Book attached to an e-mail message
The latest versions of F-Prot Antivirus using virus signature files from the 12th of May or later, detect W32/Fizzer@mm.
