FRISK Software has released F-PROT Antivirus for Windows 6.0.9.2

6.0.9.2 contains a new version of our antivirus scanning engine which improves handling and support of 'container' and archive formats such as Nullsoft self-extracting archives and ACE and 7-Zip archives, as well as “solid” RAR archives. The heuristic detection engines have been improved in general and have introduced a new technology for generic IFRAME exploit detection and features improved Javascript file scanning.

Finally, the new scanning engine includes a number of small improvements, better performance, fewer false positives and an improved detection rate.

Version 6.0.9.2 also fixes an issue with Windows Security Center in Vista SP1/Windows7, corrects the "office-plugin always enabled" bug and contains a number of stability fixes for FPAVServer, Tray icon and FPWin executables.

Updating F-PROT Antivirus

F-PROT Antivirus for Windows, the Internet Update version, will now be automatically updated to version 6.0.9.2. Users with 64-bit operating systems will receive their updates on August 12th.

For users of the LAN update versions, the packages are being prepared now and will be available for download in the Customer Zone very soon. When the time comes, we strongly recommend that users of the LAN update version update their programs to this new version.
