F-PROT Antivirus for Windows Version 3 Support to be Discontinued

As announced last year, FRISK Software is preparing to discontinue support for version 3 of F-PROT Antivirus for Windows.

The first step in this process is to stop providing updates of the virus definition files to users of version 3 on the Windows 2000 and Windows XP operating systems as well as those using older versions of F-PROT Antivirus Version 3 (3.16e and earlier). This scheduled to take place Monday, 2 June 2008.

As Windows 2000 and XP are supported by F-PROT Antivirus for Windows version 6, we do not expect this to cause any problems for end-users. Users with these operating systems are expected to upgrade to version 6.
