New versions of F-Prot Antivirus for all UNIX based platforms released.
FRISK Software has now released new versions of F-Prot Antivirus for all UNIX based platforms. The version number of F-Prot Antivirus for Linux x86, for BSD x86, for Solaris SPARC, for Solaris x86, for AIX on IBM pSeries and for Linux on IBM zSeries is now 4.4.1
These newest versions provide users with improved scanning of encrypted executables in password protected ZIP archives. Improved scanning techniques allow F-Prot Antivirus to better detect potentially damaging executables hidden in such password protected archives and warn users of the danger.
In addition, changes have been made to the default settings of these versions of F-Prot Antivirus in order to raise the default security standard applied upon installation. More information on modifying settings can be found in the F-Prot Antivirus for UNIX man pages.
We recommend that users of F-Prot Antivirus for Linux x86, BSD x86, Solaris SPARC, Solaris x86, AIX on IBM pSeries and Linux on IBM zSeries systems update their programs to these newest versions as soon as possible.
