Please refer to the respective document: Apart from that, the build process for the SC and HC has been streamlined, to provide future product updates (e.g. new antivirus engine versions) and upgrades in a more timely manner and in parallel. MAJOR ENHANCEMENTS ------------------ Engine (4.4.4): - Significant improvements to the "Eldorado" heuristic engine, including changes to support heuristic detection of 64-bit malware. - Better handling of malware using encryption methods like DES. - Added scanning of self-extracting CAB files (WEXTRACT files). - Further improvements to the "Eldorado" heuristic engine. - Some improvements in the Win32 emulator and elsewhere. - Better handling of some run-time compressed executables. Product-specific: - Task scheduler now works properly on all supported platforms. - Various other corrections to improve overall stability. - "Subscription key missing" issue fixed. - Handling of scan reports improved. All scan reports are saved with a unique filename and contain the date/time of the scan as well as the name of the scan task. - Corrections on how exclusions are handled. Specifically now exclusions will require a password, if the password protection is enabled. - Full support for Windows Vista and Vista SP1 (32-bit) and Windows 2008 Server. - F-PROT's service application can now be stopped and restarted without issues. The tray icon shows the proper status if the service got stopped. - Ensuring compatibility of other F-PROT modules. The service will log to the Windows event log, if one of the requirements is not fulfilled and the GUI will simply let you know in an error message. MINOR ENHANCEMENTS AND BUGFIXES ------------------------------- Engine (4.4.0): - Fixed a vulnerability reported by Sergio Alvarez (sergio.alvarez at nruns.com) where a corrupted (or specifically crafted) .CHM could cause an out-of-bounds memory access. - Fixed a bug where a corrupted UPX-compressed file could crash the engine. - Fixed a vulnerability where a corrupted (or specifically crafted) Microsoft Office file could send the engine into an endless loop. - Fixed a bug which could cause a crash in the 64-bit engine when scanning ASPack-compressed files. Product-specific: - Restructuring of some GUI elements according to user feedback. - The subscription key is being entered automatically, if it had been copied to the clipboard before opening the dialog that is used to enter it. - An issue where the config.xml could become corrupted, has been addressed. - The notorious "Runtime error R6025 - Pure virtual call" from 6.0.8.0 has been fixed. - Language file corrupted has been fixed, when installing to alternate location. - Updater on Windows x64 failed to download patches.under some circumstances. - Display resolution requirement for portrait mode (600x800), e.g. on tablet PC, has been fixed. However, the issue still occurs if you upgrade from a version prior to 6.0.8.0, because the old MSI has this requirement still hardcoded. - Windows Security Center related issues fixed. - Lots of minor bug fixes.
