This document describes the changes in the software since F-Prot
Antivirus 4.3.5.


MAJOR ENHANCEMENTS
------------------

This new version 4.4.0 contains significant changes in response to
the recent outbreak of worms in password-protected ZIP files.  The
improved scanning techniques provided in this version allows F-Prot
Antivirus to better detect potentially damaging executables hidden
in ZIP archives and flag them as such.

In addition, scanning of all archives, whether password protected or 
not, is now a default setting in this version of F-Prot Antivirus.

The default options are now as follows:

    -archive
        Scan inside archives
    -dumb
        Scan all files, regardless of content
    -packed
        Unpack compressed executables
    -server
        Identify infections within password protected archives

To get the behaviour that was default in previous versions the
following options must now be specified as a parameter to the 
Command-line Scanner or in the request to the Daemon Scanner:

    -noarchive
        Do not scan inside archives
    -type
        Scan files by content
    -noserver
        Do not identify infections within password protected archives
